Grinding the scratch for baby chicks???

I'll never go back to that feed store again!!! I thought I had done my research and then they're telling me to feed my chicks scratch. You can understand my confusion. I did a little more research and read that scratch can make a chick fat and cause leg problems, so sorry chickie babies, no more scratch for awhile.

If you haven't tried it already, make some mash for your babies! Just mix the chick starter in a small bowl of water and viola! Mine just love it and will eat it right off my finger tips! I put the bowl in the brooder and they devour it and then jockey for position to sleep in the bowl! silly chicks! hmmm, maybe they dont love the mash but just sleeping in the bowl?? naahhh
