just put em outside they love it. they have a lot of feathers at that age and should be off lamps a week or more.. bring back in for nuther week or so at nite

There are usually smaller pieces in the adult size Grit.
If you have a colander with round holes, put some in there and swirl and shake over a newspaper. The smaller pieces will fall through.

I bought about a 2 gallon bag of granite grit from the local mill, they put it in their chicken scratch. Ran it thru a colander with 1/16" holes. Bagged the smaller stuff for the chicks and sprinkle some over a chunk of sod in the brooder during the second week.
