Grit question. Again.

Hey everyone. after an hour of research i cant find much info on it besides buy some.

Iam thinking if they are outside alone they will figure out the grit size on there own. So putting a bowl of 1/4 minus (1/4 inch to sand size mix) stone should be fine. They will pick out what they want as they want it.

Mabye iam giving a ducks thinking abilities too much credit.

The ducks will be just fine. They are very good at knowing what they need and they'd probably get enough grit just from being outside. That being said, with my ducks (muscovy), I still make sure that there is always store bought grit available including egg shell builder when they are laying.

I put out grit just to be safe especially when the ground is frozen. But, ducks are smart and learn quickly at the same time kind of gross. ;)
