I have Cornish rocks do I need to give them grit and can I make grit and also does crushed eggs shells count

Crushed eggshells aren't grit. If you birds are eating a ration only they technically don't require grit. Anything else in their diet I would buy a bag or give them access to ground with small rocks so they can get their own. Since that breed often doesn't move much I would choose to buy a bag and make it available.
