How old should the chicks be when they are given grit???

I feed mine grit as soon as they're released onto grass or fed treats.

any age i suppose... mine are normally one week old.

I was told by my Hatchery to start giving them grit when they are 3-4 days old! And since I am new to taking care of babies I followed what they suggested.

I started mine on grit at 3 days old.​

I've tossed a few buckets of coarse sand into the run. Since then, I haven't put out grit in a bowl.

Right or wrong?
