I buy grit, btw, because road gravel up here has huge amounts of salt on it for at least half the year, and storebought granite chicken grit is WONDERFUL for spreading on an icy driveway, much better in that regard than regular gravel or sand, so I like to have a cheap sack of it around anyhow
