Never had grits ...

Just not part of my German/Dutch heritage I guess.

Your post made me hungry for grits, so for me and the missus this morning I made cheese n' eggs, bacon, raisin toast with my homemade applebutter, and grits topped with real butter and black pepper. She likes this breakfast when she goes to the Waffle House. Now that was pert near good.

Grits with butter, sausage crumbles, and a fried egg on top! Now that will get this Scotsman glad to get out of bed any morning!

(It's even better than haggis.)

Grits and butter with crumbled up Jimmy Dean sausage patties mixed in with some toast. umumum.....

Northerner by birth Southerner by roots. My dad was born in Valdosta and grew up in northern Florida. Grits were a staple for breakfast and every fish fry of blue gills.
