Grits, What do you eat them with?

Grits with bacon crumbled on them and maple syrup drizzled. Yum.

Grit
parfait: Grits cooked with salt and pepper, grated cheese, soft scrambled egg, and crumbled bacon or chicken sausage. Layer then serve with picante sauce and cilantro and green onion for garnish and green.

I really miss getting some good grits. When I worked at University of California, Davis Hospital (in Northern California) - one of the cooks in the kitchen definitely was from the south - They served grits on Thursdays - thick and sticky! Now I live in Nevada and grits is something you get in your eyes when you're out on your ATV.

When I go home to Tickfaw, Louisiana to visit my family - I go to Cracker Barrel and get 2 orders of grits - about 3 times in a week...

BTW, I do cook it at home...

Oh, how I like it? - I'm a simple gal - butter (not margarine) and lots of salt!
