Woke up this morning to the dogs yapping and the chainsaw going... boyfriend had his dad come over and help cut down the stump we have out back that one of the dogs has decided makes a great ramp into the neighbor's yard. Turns out, the stump is also completely infested with termites. The ground was moving there were so many. My train of thought: "Ew.. oh.. gross.. OH!!" and I grabbed a little chunk of wood and brought it into the chicks. At first they ran up to them, peeped and ran to hide behind their waterer to peek around the corner again. Once othe little brave wyandotte took the plunge and grabbed one, it was over. Even the shy little banty was gobbling down termites. So much fun to watch!
We have a couple indian runner ducks showing up in a couple days... so I got a sterilite tub, and filled it with some particularly rich-with-termites pieces of wood. These will be perfect little snacks!
