Gross Grey Gunk in egg -

I'm sorry I don't have a picture, but twice now we have cracked open a fresh duck egg and found this disgusting little grey blob in the egg - it's not the yolk or the whites, it's just in there with it. About the size of a dime. Anyone know what this is?

Without a picture, it's hard to say. Probably a piece of oviduct, it could mean an infection or it could mean nothing.

Could it be a meat spot? They vary in color. I used to get what appeared to be a bit of cooked chicken in my duck eggs. I have no drakes and the eggs were fresh.

huh, it didn't look like those - it was bigger and more like a dime sized gelatinous grey blob. I'm not seeing anything like it in that thread of images of egg issues, but thank you for the link to check

It's a meat spot. My young ducks laid some eggs with similar grey particles. I haven't seen any in months so there is definitely no infection.
