We've been trapping and relocating, but I'm not sure we are making much of a dent!

Probably should kill them...relocating may be illegal as well as ineffective. We've been trapping and relocating, but I'm not sure we are making much of a dent!
The illegality is usually about spreading disease.... relocation can put an animal into another's territory which usually means death anyway.....or depending on their range, you could be re-trapping the same animals over and over and/or having a trap smart animal predate on your flock again.Should is one thing.... definitely should from a legal perspective, but we live in a large large-lot subdivision with a lot of undeveloped developer-owned land around, so there's a fair scope for relocating without directly giving someone else the problem... and so far it has been surprisingly effective. What we really need is for the hawks to come back... they were my main worry with the chickens, but they are absent this year.
