That's a great idea! I've seen similar flat heating systems for chicks. The farmer said it worked much better than spot heat and that he hadn't lost any babies to the cold (from being at the perimeter).

I just wanted to let everyone know that I came up with a good solution for my situation. I divided my run in half with bird netting and put a dog crate in for the peeps to sleep in at night, safe from roaming cats. The babies are loving being outside and the two older girls are getting used to having them around. I'm hoping by the time they are ready to integrate in a few months, they won't think anything of it!
