thank you so much! I actually really love the name Paisley! I think I will name her that!Ooooh, I LOVE playing with names!
Let's see, for a Washington State gal, you have a lot of southern names (Peach Blossom, Dixie, Peanut) and a lot of "nature" names (Hazelnut, Nutmeg, Oakley, Juniper.) So, going along with those themes, here's what comes to mind:
Southern - Myrtle (Crape Myrtle trees are everywhere,) Belle, Tara, Scarlet, (or Rhett, if your mystery chick is a fella,) Belle,
Nature - Aster, Rose, Peony, Daffodil, Any of your favorite flowers ...
Then there's personality. We have a young Nankin roo named Feisty, and there's Flutterbug, who we couldn't keep in the brooder box to save our (and almost his) life!
And then there's what they'll look like when they grow out of all that cute baby fuzz. I know you said the Australorp is Gracie, but to show what I mean about names and looks - to me, the greeny-black of an Australorp reminds me of really rich fabric. That suggests something like Satin or Taffeta. Wyandottes are so intricately patterned ... Brocade? Paisley? Brahmas, I have no idea, but we have a little feather-footed d'uccles named ... (how original) ... FeatherFoot!
Have fun playing with names. That's so much fun! And congratulations on your new biddies. I'm really looking forward to watching them grow!
So cute! Congrats!Hey Flock! This is my Grow With Me page for my 4 new flock additions.. 1 silver laced Wyandotte pullet, 1 black Australorp pullet, 1. Light brahma pullet, and 1 unsexed Blue laced Red Wyandotte.. I will update this page each day!
Day 1: brought them home from North 40, and set up the brooder, snuggled, and tried to think of names. Name suggestions encouraged! So far the only one named is Gracey, the Black Australorp!View attachment 1729712 View attachment 1729713 View attachment 1729714 View attachment 1729715 View attachment 1729716
