I am starting a spring garden soon and was wondering if there is a good crop to grow for my chickens. any suggestions?

Nearly anything you grow for yourself, they can eat. I just plant more of nearly everything. In doing that if there is a bad crop of something that year I will usually have enough for my use. I have planted things like winter squash, for fall harvest, to store for them into the late fall and winter.

I grow tons of extra winter squash. You don't need to do anything with it provided the skin is intact. They will keep for months in the garage as long as it doesn't freeze or bruise. I still have pumpkin and spaghetti squash from last year. You can always freeze the extras from the garden (summer squash, corn, melon...) but than that's extra work for you.
