Growing Collard Greens

Hello everyone! So I haven't got much of a green thumb, but I would like to grow collard greens because I have a pet bearded dragon and while collards are a great staple veggie for him, he doesn't eat much so when I buy bags of greens they seem to go bad before he can even make a dent in the bag! I do have a sort of miniature kale garden, are collard greens just as easy to maintain?

No experience with collards here, but they are in the same family. I am trying them for the first time in my garden this year. What ever you plant, I do hope you share it with your BD, and don't give it all to him!!!
