I've been reading about growing my own meal worms for my flock, I'm interested but I want to know if anyone else has done this and if its worth the effort.
Any thoughts?

Thanks! I’ll certainly do some more digging! If you can get the BYC search feature to work, (I admit I've never figured it out), there is a gargantuan thread stored away somewhere on this topic. Pages and pages and pages.
I've been raising meal worms for my flock for a dozen years and started with about fifty worms left over from treating a sick hen. It's easy and fun and sure a whole lot cheaper than buying them.
Thanks so much!I started a mealworm farm 2 1/2 years ago, thread here https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/first-attempt-at-mealworm-farming.1350136/
if you want to see what I did. It's still going strong, and I'd recommend growing mealworms to anyone who keeps chickens.
