Growing Meal Worms

I've been reading about growing my own meal worms for my flock, I'm interested but I want to know if anyone else has done this and if its worth the effort.
Any thoughts?

If you can get the BYC search feature to work, (I admit I've never figured it out), there is a gargantuan thread stored away somewhere on this topic. Pages and pages and pages.

I've been raising meal worms for my flock for a dozen years and started with about fifty worms left over from treating a sick hen. It's easy and fun and sure a whole lot cheaper than buying them.
