Ok, we really love popcorn. White popcorn to be specific.
Being that we have more time than money, we thought we would try to grow our own. So before we bought the seeds we tried to grow some from the bag from the grocery store.
I put it in a ziploc bag with a damp papertowel and the sprouted! Guess what we will be planting in the garden this spring? Yippee free seeds! Who knew? Just thought I'd share!

Yes, you dry it on the cob, pull back the husk and hang up by the husk, until it is the right moisture content (DH's job) then remove it from the cob and store in air tight containers.

if i plant them next to my sweet corn will it cross pollinate and mess up my sweet corn? if so..i'll have to find a differant spot for them..i wanna try it!...

My grandmother always grew her own popcorn. The cobs were kind of smallish and the kernels were red. She grew a lot of different things.
