Growling

I'm not exactly sure what it means, but I've heard plenty of hens make these strange croaking noises. She should be fine.

...unless it's coupled with other 'aggressive' behaviors.

Chickens make many different vocalizations...
...we are too quick to anthropomorphize these sounds,
instead of learning what they really might mean.

Posting video of the sounds would be most helpful.
