Growling

Just standing around free ranging. They’ll be near us in the group and just growl from time to time. No engagement with another chicken or noticeable issue. I will say we notice it when giving them treats but I surmised we heard them at that time because we were close.

Usually, it's a "I'm not 100% on this situation, keep your eyes peeled."

I have one that is a real growler, or moaner. Like a little gozilla. Some others will occasionally, it seems to be when they want something and it's usually the Jeresy's or certain Buckeyes.

I have a Maran who is like a little motor. She jogs about doing this errrr errrrr errrrr.

From my experience, it's usually as some kind of warning for aerial predators.
They never seem out of sorts and readily take treats from us like they do every other time. They never seem upset or act oddly, they will just growl from time to time, and it usually a hen more so than the rooster.
Sometimes, when they are contended, like when they’re dust-bathing, they'll growl.
It could just be you have happy chickens!
