Anyone have an idea, or flat out understands, what a growling chicken is all about? Both hens and roosters do it.

Usually, it's a "I'm not 100% on this situation, keep your eyes peeled."Just standing around free ranging. They’ll be near us in the group and just growl from time to time. No engagement with another chicken or noticeable issue. I will say we notice it when giving them treats but I surmised we heard them at that time because we were close.
They never seem out of sorts and readily take treats from us like they do every other time. They never seem upset or act oddly, they will just growl from time to time, and it usually a hen more so than the rooster.Usually, it's a "I'm not 100% on this situation, keep your eyes peeled."
