Growth on beak

Noticed today that one of my pullets has an odd growth on the top of her beak. Looks possibly like an infected injury. It's somewhat soft to the touch. Any idea what this might be ?

I would agree that it looks like an injury, possibly from something sharp, such as a metal feeder or fencing. I would apply some betadine to it to help dry it out.
