Growth under beak on hen

Under the beak and in front of the waddle there is a black thing... I've had this bird for a year, she's around 15 months old now, she's healthy and fine, but this THING is there. What is it? (sorry it's along the black post in the background but it was the best picture I could find it it.)

I have a similar thing on my Black Copper Maran, except her growth has a "nail" (like her claw) growing out of it. It's like a black growth growing at the tip of her waddle growing into the underneath of her neck, where there it looks more like a tumor. She has been eating like a pig for the last month and it doesn't seem to bother her much. But lately it started to release liquid. She has lost some weight so I am getting worried. Anyone?????

P.S. She is about 2-3 years old, was laying lots of eggs up until about two weeks ago, and lately has become broody.
