Grrr, Wanting Something for Nothing & No Appreciation for Fine Hand Quilting....A Rare Speckledhen

Pics
Thank you for reading it. When I first began my quilting hobby back in the 80's, I had the vague notion that when we retired, I'd make and sell quilts. That really didn't work out so well. I have little need for hundreds of quilts for myself, one bed here, and no real place to store a lot of them. I have to do it but what to do with the finished product? I want to sell some just to pay for the cost of the fabric and thread, but not many buyers. Maybe we can get out Etsy shop back up and running when my business partner works out her issues. Maybe. If I had my own Paypal, I guess I could continue but DH won't open one and I am also hesitant to mess with it after hearing so many issues. And I don't want to get into a real official business with tax issues, etc, and complicate my life. So, I try to sell here on BYC and on the Facebook page for Blue Roo Creations. May lose that domain name this year. Can't keep paying for it if it just sits there being useless.
Good afternoon, i would be willing to send you a check and let you wait till the check clears before you mail to Me. Would you be willing? Do you have any full sized to queen sized in Roses and Peacock colors. I love Rose and Teal together. Flora and Fauna. Sending you a private message to send you my private information if you say yes. I love your art and craft. I don't know to call your work an art or a craft. I think Both. It could be hung as art and could be used. A beautiful work of art that is usable. Yes?

I have only one queen size quilt right now. It's harder to do the ones when they get to be that size, really, so I rarely do more than a full size bed quilt. Oh, I love those colors, too! We must have similar taste. I tell you what. Let me see what fabrics I have available and see what sort of pattern/design might show them off. You have given me a direction to go. And if you like the way it's going, then we'll talk, okay? I hate to do much on commission for fear I'll disappoint. This is the only queen I have completed right now, not the right colors, not really my favorite quilt, overall, but colors I like, greens and purples. I was trying to get more teal colors in stock, which is interesting you mention that combination.

One of my favorites was this one I did for myself, but it was entirely hand quilted, not machine.

I tend to like to do medallion style quilts, like this one. Do you like all-over patterns like the one above or log cabin quilts, or like the one below?

Thank you. The top one was the only machine quilted one. The other two were hand quilted. And the bottom one was the only one I ever did on commission, a few years ago, can't remember exactly when. I am better at machine quilting than I used to be, but I don't consider myself an expert by any means. I see major improvement, yes, but I'm an expert hand quilter and a "recovering" perfectionist so I am probably more critical of myself than other folks are.

The quilting is complete on the bed runner. Binding tomorrow. Maybe I can barter for something we need rather than try to sell it outright (NO, NOT HATCHING EGGS! LOL) Hmm, what do I need that would come within a value range of this piece?

I'm going to start trying to locate teal and rose fabrics for the new quilt. We'll see what I can find. Walmart is not always a great place for variety, though they do have decent quality fabrics now.

That is a lot of pieces. But then again the double wedding ring has lots of small pieces in comparison to the number of Larger pieces.

I've never done a double wedding ring, nothing with curved pieces. I'd really be bad at it, I'm sure!

You think you would be bad at it? I know I would do
Much worse, lol! I once made a small
Pillow using the Cathedral pattern. It was barely 12 inches And I did not preshrunk the fabric also I did not
Make It a small Pillow removable cover which was another mistake. I no longer own a sewing machine and back then the small pillow cover was made partly by machine. Got to the point I just wanted to stop torturing myself and just get it done.

When we can get off the mountain, either late today or tomorrow, I'm going to Walmart with an eye toward looking for those colors. Often, I have no idea what to make without a direction to go. So, now, it's on to teal and rose for the next project! Just have to figure out what design/pattern to do. If you think of something you like that I've done or you've seen (without a million small pieces like the feathered star, ack!) let me know. It may help me decide what to do with the colors.
