What is a catcher? Is it like the white distilled vinegar I use for colorful clothing.

They say vinegar will not set the dye in batiks due to the way they are created. There is a product called Restayne or Retayne, not sure, but it's rather expensive, not feasible for just one fabric that I could use elsewhere if it didn't work for this quilt. I'm amazed at the lack of rose-toned fabrics, though they may pop up more now that it's getting close to spring.Your braver than i am. Your also WAY more experienced than I am at quilting. You make somemof your own designs! That is quite the feat. What is a catcher? Is it like the white distilled vinegar I use for colorful clothing.
Color catchers are just extra insurance, aside from the other stuff you can do to set the dye. The vinegar may set it, but the catchers get what may bleed out into the water before it gets on another lighter fabric.I have never used it but will be sure to give it a try. I have always used white distilled vinegar just as my mother and her mother before her.
Yup, we sure are. And we have to travel a ways to get to anything.I wonder if shoppers in big cities appreciate their shopping selections. We are so limited up In the mountains.
The photo looks like something crocheted, not like fabric. Maybe it's the picture.
Hope your foot is better.
I do know how injured toes can be so crippling.
