Grubbly Farms vs. Scratch and Peck

I feel like it's a constant juggle of protein for chickens. One could always give your chickens too much protein and then there is a problem on that side as well! I feed them grubbly farms mostly but I also give them protein treats. Just a note on oyster shell, My girls will only eat the Oyster shavings. I have found my egg shells got much better after I switched to Scratch and Peck Oyster shavings. Cheers!
Yeah, mine aren’t keen on oyster shells much. They prefer their sun-dried egg shells. However, fortunately, I might have the problem of too much calcium as there are often calcium deposits (“egg pimples” as my friend’s young son calls them) on some of my egg shells. I’ve refrained from giving them any of that and it’s helped to reduce sight of the bumps. Their shells are still hard.

Do you ever provide grit?

Grit should always be provided no matter what you feed. They can sometimes find their own if allowed to free range but not always. In any case, it never hurts to provide grit regardless, worst case scenario if you provide it and they don't need it is they'll ignore it, worst case scenario if they need grit and they don't have it is they get crop issues and get ill or die
