Guess The Breed!!! Dog Edition!!!!

She's beautiful! Our EP turned 12 this year (we've had her since she was 4 mos old) and what a wonderful dog she's been.

They really are great family dogs! I've fostered a bunch and have one purebred and one mix myself. They are the best

My Newfie is on his way to his 13th birthday but is showing some signs he may not be with us long, love my big guy but thinking about a Bernese mt dog but I know they have a lot of cancer in the breed. Love my newbies personality but the drool I can do without. Anyone have any suggestions of another large breed dog with a similar personality minus the drool?

maybe a Leonberger? No drool, but they LOVE their family, water and don't mind mud and leaves.

WOW! that is an OLD Newfie. I love them too. Sweet as pie dogs from all that I have met. I love my Standards though. I have a Stabyhoun on my list as my next dog breed though, or a Soft Coated Wheaten. We will see. I have a 4-year old female, a 3 1/2-year old neutered male and a 7-month old female, so it will be a while before we are looking for any more dogs.
My niece and her family just adopted a Great Pyrennese cross from the GP rescue. It is as big as her 8-year old! and he is only a puppy! I have thought about one as a guardian for my flock, but never a house dog.

What a sweet old guy! I have fostered 2 Newfies over the years, they are one of my favorites! My ex has a Bernese Mountain Dog x Anatolian Shepherd x Border Collie mix and she is such an amazing dog. Really a perfect mix IMO, her Anatolian shows a lot & she definitely needs a person who is in control but the BC gave her some brains & she is easily trainable but not neurotic. If you don't have $100's or $1,000s to spend on a well bred purebred I would seriously recommend looking into working farm dogs :) Here is Bell
