BYC's Random Funny Posting Thread! Hosts Mike & Sally

I've been using the alarm setting on my iphone. You can write a note where it says "alarm".
I occasionally do this, but then I don't change it back when I just need an alarm rather than a specific reminder, so now all my alarms have random labels like "oven" "bus" "hedgehog" "blood"

Ummmmm ..... hedgehog?
From an autumn juvenile I was helping to look after a couple of winters ago. They're nocturnal, so had to check and top up food/water late at night or very early in the morning.

Not a fan of hedgies. My DIL had a cute one years ago. She brought it out of its cage and set it on the floor, where it proceeded to amble across the living room floor, climb up the couch, waddle across its six-foot length and then very deliberately bite me on the thigh for no reason. Nope, not a fan.

They shouldn't be kept as pets imo.

This one needed help because it was born late and hadn't gained enough weight in time to hibernate. He was released once he'd got nice and fat and the worst of winter was over.

I baby sat a hedgehog decades ago. Middle of the night it got it's quill stuck in the frame for the water bottle. Screaming 😱. I got it free. Apparently she was pregnant and the trauma caused her to abort a couple days later.

Okay, I will amend that to say, not a fan of hedgies as pets. Agree they should be treated with all the respect and compassion all wild animals deserve. I don't believe we have them wild in the States, though, do we?
