I figured it was a long shot. It's driving me mad because I know I've seen it before but can't put a name to it

That's a trick pic thpugh! Kyi apsos are supposed to be "bearded" - this one is a recessive smooth. The breed enthusiasts are split on whether this indicates mixed blood or a variety. Either way, most agree NOT to exclude them or their relatives from breeding because of the tiny genepool.
