Yes! She’s hatchery quality, so she only has feathers on her legs.Is it a D'uccle? I said D'anver cause I couldn't see feathers on her feet.
Ok! She's beautiful!Yes! She’s hatchery quality, so she only has feathers on her legs.
No, I have no photos... they died in 2016Do you have pictures of her parents? Since crests are the result of a dominant gene, at least one of her parents must have had a crest. I agree that she is a leghorn mix.
They are both production reds (New Hampshire red x RIR crosses). Their color isn’t correct for purebred New Hampshire reds and neither has the right comb for a buckeye (which would be a pea comb).
Beardless EEs aren’t too uncommon. Her small wattles are due to the pea comb gene, which usually restricts wattles even without a beard present.
Speckled sussex!Guess the breedView attachment 2858734
Interesting...bought them from a hatchery. No chance their feathers will change colors? I was wondering about the pea comb. They are both production reds (New Hampshire red x RIR crosses). Yup! And that’s the last of the chickens I own that don’t have a TOTALLY obvious breed lol Spice is the girl in that pic and even she is pretty obvious. Just not as obvious as say a buff OrpingtonSpeckled sussex!
I doubt their feathers will change color at this age.Interesting...bought them from a hatchery. No chance their feathers will change colors? I was wondering about the pea comb.
