Guess the breed

I acquired a lone duckie yesterday as it was the only duck left at the store. The label said hatch choice run” but I don’t know that was accurate because they had combined babies from lots of tubs for weeks as they started to run out.

What a precious little one. Do you have a brooder set up with warmth from a heat lamp. That little on needs at least 90* right now in warmth, nice warm water to wash in. And a mirror and stuffed animal to feel secure since they are flock animals. From here it looks more like a white layer since it doesn't have the orange bill of a Pekin unless the color just isn't showing up. And does it stand tall or like a normal shaped ducks? Did they send you home with proper feed and bedding or do you have other ducks?

Currently in a small hamster carrier with a tiny stuffed moose when it isn’t with me! We are taking baths together (including right now ! ) otherwise i just have a small bowl of water in the little carrier. I have a snake heating pad leaning up against on side of it so it’s nice and warm. I have other ducks but I got some non-medicated chick starter since my other ducks are on adult duck pellets. I’ll also add manna-pro Niacin with garlic.

Sometimes it stands more upright but it’s still quite clumsy so it’s hard to tell! It’s feet are tinged orange but the bill is pretty much pink which is what my buff duck was like when she was little so idk!

Any way you can find a buddy for this little one. Ducks do so much better with their own kind but if you can spend every hr of the day with your little one? They don't call them flock animals for nothing.

Well i’m home right now due to good old covid-19 but I am waiting on a call duck hatch any day now and will hopefully be adding another. In the mean time I have a tiny stuffed moose in with him that helped raise my last call duck until I was able to add my black East Indie! LOL!
