Guess the gender?

It is supposed to be! Glad you could confirm!
I can't truly confirm it. But as a landrace chicken the hedemora has no true phenotypical display to judge against and given that it's supposed to be and has similar shape and characteristics to some that I've seen pictures of that were supposed to be I'd say it very well could be. It looks more like a hedemora than an Easter Egger. Where'd you get it?

I got it not knowing there were different varieties so I assumed they were all the wooly type lol my ignorance! I like the look of the woolies but yeah really first experience with chickens I am trying to get to know the different breeds. Thank you for educating me!

Yeah there are definitely smooth feathered hedemora. I'm curious though can you show that comb up close and straight on? He almost appears pea combed so maybe it's not hedemora.

Yeah that's odd. My understanding is that hedemora all have a compact smooth single comb. I mean pea combs make sense for a cold hardy bird too but I didn't think they were supposed to have them. Landrace birds are fun aren't they? So hard to know if you're getting what you pay for

Lol for sure! They did post a photo of a cockerel they were selling and it definitely had a single comb but also had fair sized wattles so I just don’t know lol I don’t know how old their cockerel was either, guess I’ll just have to give it more time. If I was planning on breeding I would probably care more about the investment but for me it’s just curiosity.
