Guess what? ANOTHER hatch - a - long ! ! ! ! !

My two broody hens are taking all of my splash hens eggs. They are new layers also. Not thinking they are very good as was going to let them have the ones in the incubator. Candled all 18 of them last night. More then half of them are well on there way of hatching. Two more days till lock down. will candle the silkie egg right before lock down to see if I only have two in there.

I will be moving 41 to the hatching tray the 28th all from 2 discovered ameracana ( spelled wrong ) ,, green eggs , just took 20 out last thurs there were 4 no shows in that batch all found banny nests . supposed to get 16 peacock eggs next week ,,, you gussed it another found nest , then I'm going to rest the incubator it's not slowed down sense Feb.

My EE's went broody. Very first EE going broody. Wormed today so I have to chuck the rest of the eggs that hatch for ten days. Lock down is tomorrow. I can tell the first EE's I hatched one is a rooster so far the white one from the biggest hen I have. When they molted they never mist a lick. Got eggs every day.

Not only is my egg pipped...it's one of the 4 out of 37 that is from my OWN backyard flock

I just moved em to the small bathroom...easier to keep the humidity up...just run the hot shower and keep the door shut..
You can hear it chirpin...Now just gotta get hubby to get another heat lamp for the brooder...I moved the only other one I had to the outside coop with the 3 week olds this afternoon...

Oh my gosh I just realized I haven't candled my eggs. To me that's so eggciting I don't know how it slipped my mind. Only on day 10 so should be good to do tomorrow. I keep all mine in the incubator til the end anyway cause we have some shells that I just can't see through. If I threw them away in my last hatch, I would have discarded some good eggs. Had an 80% hatch rate last time. Course my broodies showed me up with a 100% hatch...gotta love those broody hens!
