It’s about time to remove plants and weeds and put down fresh mulch for the dogs and the ducks

It’s not supposed to freeze here till middle of October or so, and we’ve still got some melons, beans, potatoes, and peppers. And tomatoes, of course. We got the most tomatoes ever this year.

I saved seeds from a Cinnamon Girl and accidentally planted them in a pot with watermelon seeds. They took over that spot in the garden. There are now around 30 pumpkins in a 10' square area. Some of them are cute little round, knobby ones and some are a little more oval and smooth.

We got about 15 pumpkins from five plants, which isn’t ideal. They did not like the two weeks of 100+ degrees we had this summer.

I love hamburgers but cheeseburgers are better lol

I mean, we call them hamburgers, but we put cheese on them. So I guess they’d technically be cheeseburgers, lol.

I hadn’t, that thing is huge! We got some good sized peppers, but nothing like that.

First year I grew pumpkins, I got about 7 pumpkins. The next year I kept trimming the vines back to keep them from taking over the garden and got 33 pumpkins from the same number of plants. I have been cutting vines back ever since and get lots of pumpkins.

I honestly can’t wait for it to freeze. This has been one of the hottest summers in terms of how many days we had in triple digits. I just want it to be over now

You should try them with green tomato relish.
