This is one of my silkies that is about 4 months old maybe a bit older. Any guesses on the gender? I wanna know what people are thinking

I was thinking the same thing! Thank you!I’m no expert at sexing, but it kind of looks like a Cockerel to me, but hey that’s just what I think
Good luck though!
Hi there, hope you are enjoying BYC!This is one of my silkies that is about 4 months old maybe a bit older. Any guesses on the gender? I wanna know what people are thinking

Thank you for the detailed response! I really appreciate it. The behavior points me in the direction of thinking more rooster than hen but it could be just the personality that the chicken will have! The streamers is what pointed me in the direction of thinking a rooster as well but I could be wrong! I will get better pictures today if I can, my silkies don’t like pictures very much haha!Hi there, hope you are enjoying BYC!
All signs say pullet.. no long saddle feathers, no big comb, no red wattles for stated age.
Bearded buff Silkie pullet!
Is she with any other chickens.. where behavior can be a great indicator of gender?
My opinion is based on hatching and raising hundreds of Silkies. The boys OFTEN show their gender young. Still guessing at this age means more likely pullet, IMO.
Also, I don't think those are streamers and consider streamers to be one the most debated things in Silkies. Just pick the sheaths off the feathers on the back of the head.. she can't preen them out herself.
Just like everyone else though.. I could be incorrect, I'm still going with pullet! And THIS time hope the other posters are wrong, for YOU!
Pull back the crest and post a photo of the comb. Pull back the beard and post the wattles.. for confirmation.![]()
Well no one wants a cockerelI was thinking the same thing! Thank you!
