Guinea behavior...

Yup, or perhaps a deadly leaf was spotted blowing by! As far as jumping down into dog kennel; yes, they will. We lost two of our birds to our own dogs shortly after we got them last year for doing exactly that. Out in the yard, our dogs won't bother them, but when a ready-packed meal flies up their nose in their "house"- well, all bets are off.

My Guinea Fowl also go on the roof! My husband has seen them do this every evening, right before the sun sets. Seems that they want to make sure everything is 'secure'. And then they fly down and roost with the chickens.

I thought they flew up on something high like that in the evenings and called out so any other Guineas within a few miles could hear them calling and come join the flock. It sounds like they are announcing the best flock party around.

Guinea fowl like to entertain themselves. They usually chase each other or look in windows/mirrors; they're very vocal and can be excited easily. Mine get on the roof and like to make noise too. They get down before it's feeding time. Annoying or not, guinea are just quirky and fun. Embrace it.
