Guinea eggs under a broody American Game Hen---ONE Hatched! Pic on pg2

Thanks! Probably a Buff. The Southern Farm Hatchery doesn't list any of those other types. I'll post photos as they get older. She's done with the eggs. I had her on 5 total and 2 were not fertile.

Mom did not know that there were so many types of guineas. I got them because she wanted guineas and they are supposed to be really great with eating bugs. She kept asking me if they were "the normal" type. LOL What's normal?

The "Normal" type is the Pearl. Or Pearl Grey as some people call it.

They are so cute! We decided to let Mama Hen care for them and just make sure that we hold them and play with them every day. Mama kind of freaked out when we took them all out to take those photos. She was running around looking for them and attacked our dog, Sissy, a 4 lb chihuahua who never bothers the chickens and just happened to be outside for a potty break. I don't think Sissy will be crossing paths with Mama again.

The weather is cooler in the mornings, so I'm taking my coffee outside and sitting near the nest. They look like airplanes going in and out of the hanger when they go under Mama. The little buff one is the most brave. It is always poking its head out and looking around. Then once it decides to the coast is clear it comes out and is followed by the other two. Anyway, Thanks for all your help! I'm sure as they get older, I'll have lots more questions!
