Haha they are family friends i and most people on our street own roosters and no one really caresI have 40 acres, they wander apprx 20 acres plus visit my neighbors and cross the road. My flock is 32 guineas, one and two year olds. They are great fun to watch and are obnoxiously loud at bedtime. In the past 3 weeks they have laid over 100 eggs, I have given away 40 to a friend, have 48 in the incubator, and another 30 in 2 nests that I feel one has been abandoned, because there were no new eggs tonight. The other nest has had 1 new egg each day for the last two days. What to do with the left overs. They have a new nesting area, now to find it. If you do decide to get keets you will love them your neighbors might change their minds.
Our neighbours are really nice they are completely fine with it I have asked them already
ok thank you i dont think its a god idea anymore to keep them beacause i live in a suburbMy neighbors let us know they don’t mind the noise our guineas make but my own husband hates it. I know there are videos out there of their racket but it does it no justice. Go in thinking they’ll make the worst imaginable noise and when it’s less than what you imagined that will be awesome. Mine were quiet up until 6+ months. I love em but I really didn’t think they were that loud! My roosters are QUIET compared to my guineas and I have 3 roosters!
But other than that I love my guineas and actually want more.
ok thank you i dont think its a god idea anymore to keep them beacause i live in a suburb
I have chickens and ducks I wanted to get them for bug controlWhy had you chosen guineas instead of chickens? Bug control or meat or both?
Weighing the pros and cons of keeping guineas will help you make an educated decision. I love the bug control and I love those annoying birds, but I do know if it were up to my husband we would have eaten them long ago.
