We think guineas look like something drawn by Dr Seuss. The kids laugh when they call because they claim the birds are saying "butt-CRAAK! butt-CRAAK! butt-CRAAK!" I got 5 lavenders 3 years ago, turned out to be 1 cock & 4 hens. We're down to our last hen now, hope to have some more some day.

Just heard a story today about our guineas from our neighbor. She told me there is a family of raccoons out back behind our houses. I had no idea, cause I've not seen any sign of them. She said that is because our guineas alert her dog, then he comes over and scares them away. Yeah guineas and yeah Odie the Standard Poodle.
