I have a 4.5 month old Guinea Fowl who I found 2 weeks ago unable to walk. I went in to the coop to find the dominant male pacing, chasing everyone. Piles of feathers were strewn about from the other older Guineas. The dominant male along with his partner and 2 others are 5.5 months old. The female who can not walk and her partner are 4.5 months old.

I found her laying on the ground unable to walk. I isolated her and began to give her nutridench. After a few days she improved immensely. She was able to stand, walk but she can not fly, can not jump up a foot high and still is wobbly when she walks. She uses her wings to stabilize herself at times. Each day she seems a bit better but she’s far from 100%.

Can anyone give me an idea of what I’m dealing with? I’m waiting to hear back from a vet but I’m unsure of how to proceed now until I do. Has anyone had this happen to their Guineas? I’m afraid the others and my new group of 7 will not accept her back in the flock. She’s not strong enough to defend herself so she remains secluded.
