Guinea hen setting on nest should i let her?

I just saw your feathered pit bull reference, perfect example!

the best and easiest way is to use a spare cage and a good LONG HANDLED NET. the biggest problem is the stress it has on the momma guinea. If they were better parents i would let them raise all the keets but unfortunately they are horrible parents. Just be prepared when you take the keets they will sulk for a week and then go right back into egg laying mode with a vengence . And now she will be vary wary of you and will not sit anymore this year so eggs must be incubated or sold.

Well now i have another hen on the nest. im going to let her considering i SUCK at hatching. But their should only be about 14 good eggs and 6 bad. She's right by my hen house---which isn't as good as it sounds----their is a skunk thats comes somtimes but it never gets in the yard.

Update: The eggs are due to hatch the 18 of july. There was 17 all good eggs, all fertile, but one was under developed so i opened it and the chick was very skinny and dead. Question since its summer here and its like 101 degress do i need to put water somewhere around the nest. When i candled yesterday i noticed the air sack was veery small about a dime or nickel size.

I say put some water, but the water could attract predators too. Have a friend who puts a cage on top of her birds w food & water in it. (like a wire dog kennel). I imagine that would just make a guinea VERY mad!!!

Update: I did take the eggs away the day before hatch, the keets i already had she was terribly mean to them. But iput more eggs under her and yesterday was hatch day and so far to have hatched and 2 are piping. I take it my humidity is good for hatching but not for incubating. The chicks hatched all by themselfs but no water in there so the humidty in the house maybe. And the to that hatched are peid!!! I always have pearl. Maybe ill get a lavender!!! I will update as they hatch will also take piks.

I put up 4 little pannels around the nest site, they are maybe 2 ft tall but the skunk doesn't bother her. Then in the day i open one of the ends, so she can get up and eaat/drink. And i did put water out there but in 20mins or so it was gone (the chickens drank it) but luckly for mean it rained and the air packs were hudge bigger than usual but they are hatching!!
