Moved to Brooksville in 1991 to begin a Golden Retriever rescue. We live in a deep woods hammock sooooo ticks became a problem. Our neighbor suggested chicckens. OK, we found someone locally who got us hooked on Cochins and Guinea hens.
At most we've had 10. We have Goldens and cockatiels and parakeets and lovebirds in an outside aviary and koa in a large koa pond which was origianlly built for the goldens to swim in.

About Feb our koi pond was visited by a blue heron who feasted on our koi and also stabbed one of my guineas who was a keet sister. What a foul deed! We replenshed the koi, bought a monofilament net but we now only have the remaining guinea and a rescue leghorn rooster. My poor guinea is very lonely and I am seeking a female guinea to be her companion ( she is pearl).
Aslo would love to find some female bufff cochin checkens. We can drive to north of Gainesville, Orlando, Fort Myers to find our fowl family

We give them a really good home - the heron was a fluke as they have avoided owls, hawks racoons, they are out during the day and in after 8. The goldens are 16, 13, and 10 and really don't bother the birds. Astor1

go to "where am I, where are you," so you can find and post on your state thread. You can ask the questions you just asked us. You may find someone in your area with a guinea in need of a friend and have a match up etc.
