No, guineas are not chickens. As a collective term, they are called guinea fowl. Males are cocks, females are hens, just like chickens.

They have a very odd head and look about them. They are originally from the African continent.

Much finer meat. They are "gourmet" additons to many swanky functions and parties where chicken it far too common to be served.

Once you eat guinea you'll see what I mean. The breast meat is smoother, the tissue fiber is much smaller making the meat more succulent.
