The little Merinos have mites . None of the stuff to get rid of mites that I know of can be used on such young pigs. I am going to bath them and see if that helps, anyone have any ideas of what I could do?

Look into diatomaceous earth people sprinkle it on chickens to get rid of pests.

shows are starting again! I need to start piggy show preparation, agouti merino sow, Kazan, Nizhny and maybe Gobi will be the potential show pigs. Not sure I will take Gobi because he is quite skittish, over a year old and never been to a show before

Hazelnut (the agouti merino sow) has lost a lot of hair so she isn’t showable, decided not to take Gobi so I might not be going to the show I wanted to go to.

I worked out it would be cheaper to use fleece bedding instead of other bedding, so I will be trying it to see if I like it (the pigs love it) maybe all of them will have fleece. They all ready get fleece sacks in winter

youngest merinos need to go into their own cages they are 4 weeks old soon

Absorbent layer for the fleece has been ordered

one of the young merino boars coats is really nice so far, I am exited to see how it turns out!

this is the one with the nice coat, he doesn’t look very curly because they got a de-mite bath yesterday. You can see his very nice chops (cheek fluff)

this is the other one I might keep (I will be only keeping one)he doesn’t have as nice chops or as dense coat but his eyes look nicer and he might be curlier

He probably won’t keep this on because he has a horrible temperament, he kept trying to bite me and my brother yesterday while we where bathing and drying him, he also does not like sitting still

I used to go to shows, But I have stopped breeding and showing guinea pigs recently. Unfortunately I am in the UK so I can’t help find breeders! good luck with your search I hope you can find some!
