Hey all I want to get guinea keets soon and I plan on allowing them to free range when they mature. From what I read they probably won't use the coop or barn I offer them to roost in, but that's okay. I was wondering how far they normally travel when roaming.. They'd have almost 100 acres but I can probably guarantee they will be in my neighbors' fresh cut lawn looking for bugs, right?

Thanks!
Jake

The guineas should be trained to sleep in the coop from the time they are old enough to leave the brooder. They won't survive long if allowed to sleep in trees. My guineas always go back to their house at dark.

My guineas usually don't go out of sight of their coop. But that can be a long way out here in the prairie. Our homestead sits about 600' from a gravel road and I still have to occasionally chase them off the road. They go about 700' to the neighbors property. And they go at least that far to the back of our property. They don't know property lines so yes, they will probably go to your neighbors property. None of my neighbors mind tho since my guineas are the neighborhood bug patrol.
