Guinea with swollen foot..infected? What do I do?

I also have a guinea fowl with this problem. It is definitely not bumble foot because there is no sore or scab around the area and the swelling covers the whole foot. Any one???? help... :(

Anyone found a solution? Our guinea cock developed swelled up sections on two toes last winter and still has them. Now his hen also has developed a big lump, walks slower, and sits more often then before, plus they now sleep on the ground, have stopped roosting. Any idea what causes this and how to heal it?

Sounds like it could be bumblefoot. Here is a link to better understand causes and treatment.

I know this is an old post, but we have a similar problem. For us it is summer. The guinea is 3-4 months old. Yesterday she was limping and sitting a bunch. Today her foot is very swollen. We've cleaned it off and my initial reaction was "is this bumble foot" - but there is no hallmark scab which makes me think it may be something else. I cannot find any signs of trauma which could be a source for infection

I know this is an old thread, but has anybody found out what this is? One of my guineas is now having a similar problem.

So far as I can tell, guinea fowl are more high maintenance than I anticipated. I just thought it was because I live in a very rocky and dry area at high altitude! I am dealing with random lameness, lumps and swollen feet. I definitely recommend doing regular epsom salt soaks for about 2 weeks or more, putting prid on the area to draw out anything else, look over the whole area and if you see any scabs or anything that looks like one at all, start there. I am also mixing rosemary oil and olive oil to make my own antibiotics they can take orally to see if that helps. Look up bumblefoot but also keep in mind that it can manifest itself in other ways and when chickens/guineas get infections it turns into a hard crumbly substance that requires removal in order to bring complete healing so essentially, we must become vet techs and sus out the issue. May the force be with you, I am going on a month + of trying to figure out and fix what is wrong with two of my guineas. Never give up, never surrender!
