To be honest i have 23 chickens all 6 weeks old except the 3 Sebrights who are 25 weeks.
The guineas are being a pain. When i got them they were 7 weeks old. Inwas told to keep them in coop for 6 weeks so they know where home is.
I cant wait to let them out so they can go and do their thing. They are raising heck in there.
They are about to have access to a 50x25 pen and after a week or 2 in there im opening the door and letting them be guineas. If they come home at night like i have been working towards that's great. If they choose the trees to roost it wont be from my lack of trying.
So far they are treating all the chicks fine. But they are starting to challenge each other. A few nights ago i caught them bumping chests with each other.
When i said raising heck i mean silly stuff that's getting on my nerves. I built several long roosts with room for everybody.
The guineas will roost early on 1 side of the coop and all the younger smaller chicks will choose another roost. For whatever reason the guinea's will decide right at dark to switch roosts and spook all the chicks off their roost.
I just think once they are outside being guineas the coop will be more relaxed
