I am so sorry you lost one of your chickens..
I have some twenty four week old chicks plus five grown chickens and I know what you mean about holding off. I really want more guineas but not ready to keep any more in the house after just getting the chicks out in their coup!
I was just taken pictures of nine bucks in our side field by the house. they were amazing!! Good luck on your new chickens, hope all goes well for you.
