guineas

I have never raised guinea fowl, but I don't see why you couldn't have just 3 or 4.

For the past couple years we had just 3 guineas living with our flock of chickens. It wasn’t a lot of trouble. The guineas do harass (playfully) the chickens while cooped up but ours all free range together from daylight to dark without any conflicts.
I deeply respect the opinions and advise of the other more experienced posters above and agree that more than 3 or 4 would be better. But there’s no reason you can’t limit yourself to a smaller number if that’s what you want. In fact it might be better for a first time guinea owner to start off small to get an idea of what they are like before investing in a larger group. That’s just my thoughts anyway.
Please keep in mind my guinea experience seems to be rather unique. Mine almost immediately cooped themselves up at night and never had to be locked down to learn their new home, etc.
