I am calling him/her Wittle Wild Blue..... LOL. When i first put him in he stayed in one corner and the whole flock cowered in the other.... ""were going to die"" He PeepPeeped a while then he walked over and pecked one of mine in the back of the head at a dark spot. They all jostled around a little but more of settlind down for a nap than anything else. The three littler ones are the same age or just a tad older than him.

When I left they were all napping except him. He was standing in the middle of the pile as if to say.... "What just happened" Moms checking on them periodically and there have been no scuffles or toe pecking.... yay. But they are rapidly growing out of the enclosure for sure.

Too funny!

I've had my keets in a wire cage in the chicken coop with some lil pullets. Since it's getting crowded and the keets are feathered and flying out when I open the door, we let them out to free range with the big hens this weekend. Of the 4 keets, two happily roamed around eating bugs and two spent ALL WEEKEND despratly tring to get back in the cage!

Thirty keets are NOT going to fit in the tub I have...

Since you are all Guinea people I wanted to tell you of my experience with them, we were given 3 as full adults. we had 5 acres at the time ane a terrible tick problem. The Lady who gave them to us was despreiate to rehome them so we said yes. she said to keep them caged up for 10 to 14 days and then turn them loose, sure enough they stayed a round but only came in at feeding time. they had roosted in trees at their original home and did so in our oaks. suddenly they disappeared for a few weeks,we thought they were gone, then came back and hung around colser and longer than before after a day or two I noticed that everywhere they went a small puff of dust was kicked up??? I started to look closer and that dust sparkled in the sun! It was a impossibly tiny keet it would pop through the chicken wire and eat and drink when it wanted too but the mom and dad's would not let it rest and after another week we did not see it anymore

On a brighter note we also had pygmy goats, and I would pull one of those grated wire wagons down to feed and water them in the evenings after they had been grasing free. Well one eve. the larger of the goats butted me and I fell on to the wagon, this made it start to roll down the hillside, suddenly the guineas gave the alert and I looked up to see them running straigt at me, I did not know wether to stear the wagon or protect my head, you know how they can run full charge-- they got right up to me -- and one jumped on each leg and one at the front of the wagon and we road clear to the bottom of the hill with them at full throtle voice wise, and the goats trying to jump on too!

I have 6 110 qt sterilite bins I've converted into brooders, all going non stop, lol. I like the clear bins a little better, they seem to keep the keets a little more calm because the keets can see me coming and they get used to seeing me working/moving around in the brooder room. They do outgrow them super fast tho.

I do like the larger sizes available in the solid rubber made bins tho, so I may cut out "windows" in the sides of a couple of those and cover the cut outs with hardware cloth (I love zipties!).

I also turned an old Miley 2-horse straight pull horse trailer into a giant brooder... they can't see me until I open the door tho, unless they are up on the perches at the back door, so they are a little skitterish, lol but it works really good!
