Guitar fear

My husband brought his guitar outside to play and our three ladies went crazy! They started squawking and ran and hid behind the run. We tested this out two more times. Each time the guitar appeared the girls ran for their lives before he even strummed a note. Any ideas about why they are so terrified?

Chickens have great hearing. I'm sure they are hearing something that we cannot. I'm actually glad when my hens show fear of something new and strange to them. That means they have good survival instincts! Keep strummin'.
